Something new is waiting to be born, and this site is a place to describe what that something new might look like, and to help people mobilise to achieve it. TIARA, or 'There is a Real Alternative' is the motto that answers Margaret Thatcher, who famously said 'There is No Alternative', or TINA. The Tiara is also a symbol of the need to secure a heightened (and more responsible) position for ordinary people on earth, as divine custodians, not to mention all the other creatures we are called to take care of...

It is clear that people across the UK need and want change. This fact has been clearly expressed in the vote to leave the European Union, with its slogan of ‘take back control’. However, the real change we need – political, economic, social and ecological  - won't happen just because we are leaving, and it certainly won't happen under the direction of Boris Johnson. We are saddled with a failing political and economic settlement, which the British Prime Minister and the rest of his class, continue to favour, for the simple reason that they are the ones who benefit from it. Under this settlement, a vast share of the spoils of our economy goes to a very small group of people, while at the same time, formal political power has become ever more centralised.
